Every baby is different in how soon he/she begins using things like spoons and cups to eat and drink.

Here are some things that your baby should be able to do at certain ages:

  • Drink from a sippy cup (with water) held by an adult: 6 months
  • Begin using a cup with no lid: between 6 and 12 months old
  • Use a spoon to feed self: between 8 and 12 months old
  • Hold a cup with both hands: 12 months
